Laboratory integrated into follow-up

Laboratory tests are part of pregnancy care, not an isolated service

Askabide has laboratory services at its centres for many routine tests and coordinates genetics and specialist tests with partner laboratories. Each result is interpreted in clinical context.

Not every patient needs the same panel

Tests depend on trimester, history, previous results, symptoms, obstetric risk and public/private protocols. A fixed list may be wrong for an individual patient.

Before collection we confirm preparation, fasting if relevant, medication, gestational stage, availability and expected turnaround.

On-site laboratory and referred tests

Many routine tests can be processed within the Askabide laboratory environment following control and validation. Genetics and specialist testing, including NI/+, are coordinated with reference laboratories.

For NI/+ we use the Laboratorio Calderón test described on the dedicated page.

Results

A value flagged outside a reference range does not automatically mean disease. Ranges can change during pregnancy and interpretation depends on gestational age, laboratory method, symptoms and the complete result set.

Do not use WhatsApp to send reports or request urgent interpretation.
