Low risk
Reduces the probability of the conditions analysed, but does not exclude them completely and does not assess every disease.
Askabide provides the expanded NI/+ test. It analyses cell-free DNA in maternal blood to estimate the risk of chromosome conditions. It is screening, not a definitive diagnosis.
Laboratorio Calderón states that the test is available from ultrasound-confirmed week 10. Before collection, gestational age, pregnancy type and circumstances that may affect testing are reviewed.
Specific conditions should be confirmed in twin pregnancy, egg donation and other particular situations.
Reduces the probability of the conditions analysed, but does not exclude them completely and does not assess every disease.
Requires medical explanation and, where appropriate, confirmation with a diagnostic invasive test.
Insufficient fetal fraction or another quality criterion may require a repeat sample or alternative strategy.
The test cannot state that the fetus is “completely healthy”. It does not replace ultrasound, first-trimester screening, the anomaly scan or indicated diagnostic testing.
A broader panel provides more information, but performance and predictive values are not identical for every condition.
NI/+ can include fetal sex, but Askabide also offers a specific test for patients who only want that information. They answer different questions.
A specific test separate from chromosome screening.
